TheFairway was founded in May 2022 by R.W. “Rick” Simpson upon his retirement from the FBI. He spent the final three years of his career leading the Miami International Corruption Squad which investigated FCPA, Kleptocracy, and Anti-Trust matters reaching to the highest levels of country and corporate governance. In this role, Mr. Simpson developed excellent working relationships with top prosecutors and law enforcement officials in multiple countries and gained substantial experience navigating the complexities of multi-jurisdictional investigations. He served in the FBI for over 26 years which included significant time in Los Angeles, FBI Headquarters, Washington DC, and Miami. He joined the FBI with a CPA background, having worked as a Controller for a group of structured finance corporations. Throughout his FBI career, Mr. Simpson made extensive use of sophisticated investigative techniques while conducting numerous high profile violent crime, organized crime, financial crime, and money laundering investigations. He has testified as an expert witness in financial crime matters. Mr. Simpson is a certified anti-money laundering specialist (CAMS).

Steve Foreback retired from the US Secret Service after serving for more than 28 years in a variety of capacities to include protective operations, investigations, and leadership positions.  He was responsible for planning, staffing, logistics, protection, and implementation of personal and facility security for high level U.S. Government Officials and more than 70 foreign heads of state, domestically and in 58 different countries.

Mitch has 35 years law enforcement experience, 25 years working narcotics and money laundering investigations, over 20 years of task force experience including formal task force participation within US Customs, DEA and HSI office of investigations. He worked in various capacities within task force settings, to include case agent role, undercover work and supervisory duties. He has testified in numerous federal and state case, and received formal training from various federal and state agencies specifically in the areas of money laundering, narcotics investigations and asset forfeiture removal.

Alison “Alie” is currently earning her Master of Arts in International Affairs from the University of North Florida. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from the University of North Florida. Alie hopes to one day have a career in federal law enforcement. She has interned with the FBI, Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and works at a Criminal Defense Firm. Alie like any Floridian loves the beach and Disney. She is active in her faith and a firm participant in her community.
